As for the Black Chrome trunk bar, it should match up pretty well. If you want to go all out, get the Black Chrome door handles too.

Being that it has the Nav package, it most likely has a Pioneer Stereo...which is not the better of the two available. (Pioneer and Nakamichi) Should say which one it is on the lower portion of the navigation. Lexus Premium Sound System is Pioneer, and Nakamichi is well...Nakamichi. ![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

also this is the question im asking him as we speak, and to have his tech look it over or have him look it over.
let me know if i missed anything
-Motor mounts/trans mount
-Lower Ball joints/outer tie rods
-Upper Control Arm assembly - Popping noise
-Knock Sensors - these set off a CEL
-Door actuator - Wouldn't open with key alarm - and it was a pain, so do all the locks work, and do they work with the key buttons i.e locking and unlocking???
-Differential - Leak
-Wheel bearing - Noise -
-Wheel sensors VERY fragile part, the wires break very easily. (lights in dash comes on VSC etc.)
-Rattling under the catalytic converters (remove/re-weld heat shield/ clamp fixes this issue)
-Condensation in headlights
-Seized calipers
-02 sensor

The car has DE tags on it but I don't recall ever seeing it on the road for the couple I've been here. There's not that much 2GS' and the few out here are not modded in any way shape or form. With the 1st owner being a detailer and second a mechanic, one would think it's been in good hands. I would inquire about the ball joints as someone mentioned already. Good luck!

yeah, im hoping to get it, i shot him an email and im going to see what his response is.
heres the email i shot him with.
Alright, well sounds fair enough, i wouldnt expect paper work especially since your working at a dealer and it would have been a side job.
I think the overlay around the vents switches and radio and shifter console, ignition switch, etc are aftermarket tho, well im actually pretty positive on that, since i havent seen any other Lexus with it from the factory, and the only ones i have seen are the ones when they purchase a dash kit.
My only concern is how flexible are you on the price, since I will need to change the ball joints, you do not want those going on these cars as there are a few horror stories of wheels flying off, and what not. I can come up tomorrow with cash since im going to be heading that way either way for starboard opening, and i have another GS to look at in Ocean City.
Kbb has your car priced at (this includes the platinum series option, and nav option)
$8375 to $6950
2000 GS400 KBB
Question is what are you willing to take for it, obviously we can discuss this in more detail tomorrow when i see the car and we talk face to face.
But excellent condition is $8375 and KBB also says less then 5% of cars are in this order. I just want to make sure you are willing to negoiate around these prices.
*Hopefully he bites on this one.
Update..
his email asked.
"Whats your offer?"
what do you guys suggest???

I just picked up a 2000 GS400 Platinum at a dealer auction here in Cincinnati for 8k. It's in great condition like the one you're looking at and so far it's been a great car for me. It had 98000 miles, no navi, but it did have the premium stereo.
Just my two-cents but $7500 to $8000 sounds like a pretty good deal. $9000 seems to be getting up there but these cars are great for another 50-100k miles and then some! Another thing to think about is that this car was probably close to 50k or more new. Someone else might confirm that for you but I'm pretty sure that's right. This is a nice car!
Offer him 7.2 and then go from there. Good luck!
