I don't think 8k is a bad deal. Like I said in an earlier post I bought my 2000 GS400 Platinum with 98k for 8k at a dealer auction. There wasn't a whole lot of interest in my car because of the high mileage and the fact that it is 10 years old so 8k was a good price, meaning it wasn't driven up by competition between two bidding dealers. The bidding started at $7200 and I had the car in about 45 seconds for 8k.

I'd hate to tell you its a good deal without seeing the car in person and inspecting the joints, belts, etc, but from my experience 8k is a pretty good deal.

Good luck man!

UPDATE..

So went down to see the car last friday 3/19, got down there saw the car didnt purchase it cause of night, we were going to meet up saturday 3/20, but decided we would meet up sunday 3/21 when i leave to go home and i would just drive it home for the price of 8k

Sunday comes around, and hes out on a tow, and we are hanging around the area for a little, we talk and he cant make it until 8pm, once again thats night time and we decided to leave. We talk for a few days the following week. (im still looking for a gs, as im sure some of you ran into a thread, or ive asked about purchasing yours) After we decide to meet up he changed the price to 8500, (after searching for a few weeks, 8500 was still a deal) but im not one to take that crap, changing things once you already agree on something. we stopped talking for a few days, he hit me back and said he would do it for 8k if i come and pick it up, i tell him i was there, i just needed see it in the daylight, and he said he would deliver it for 8500. Either way we came to the conclusion that we would meet halfway by the bay bridge, and a few of us are going to grab crabs while i pick up my new car. we decided on 8k for the car.

i shuold be leaving in the next 9 hours to go get it.
countdown begins!!!
