I'm actually currently doing this project right now. I got an extra set of LED's thin clears and OEMs for dirt cheap from a friend and everything is perfect.
It seems like the OEM taillights are really hard to take apart. The glue they use is different and it holds on really tight. That's the hard part. As for the LED's aftermarket. It easy to open that up. I'm using an oven as well.
St341th, you'll see me dipping in OC soon with LED's OEMs.
If i have the time, i might have a thread of DIY on this.

Just wait and you'll see. It's in the process right now. Believe it's tough to open the OEM ones. I may have to use a dremel, but that's my last resort.
There's a set for insurance taillights. That's for 500. j$smooth, if you're interested in LED's pm. I have an extra set that is on my car right now.

History repeats itself
I posted the challenges of clearing factory tails about 6+ years ago.
There are a ton of threads on this topic, but here are two that i posted on.

Option 1. Chances of Clearing the factory 2001-up lenses?
Slim to none.
Option 2. Chances of replacing the factory lens with a pre-cleared LED lens?
Good, but will require dremeling out the OEM lens if you wanna do it clean. Not sure how many people will be willing to purchase and destroy an LED Tail set in order to put the lenses on a non-LED set, but it would def cost less than buying a JP set.
Good Luck duby1 if you are doing option 2.
Option 1 is . . . well not an option.
