Default 2 Little things I can't figure out how to fix???

Alright so I have had my car since 2004, its a GS400 Platinum Edition and 2 things never worked, well, since I owned the car. I am seeking advice or ideas on how to fix them, where to look etc.

1. My speaker on the driver side door cuts in and out. If I apply pressure on the door insert (paneling covering the door) it will work, other times its random breaking in and out, speaker sounds great but I am nervous about taking off the paneling. Should I be? Is this something most likely in the door, or at the door harness, thoughts?

2. The recline | / <- see motion description = P, clicks but does not move the seat back. Is this the motor? A fuse? How do I check this to see what is the issue. All other seat functions work just not the recline, I get the click so I know the signal from the button to the motor is okay but the motor isn't moving? I thought the motors were all one so if one broke they all broke.

Thanks

1. The speaker issue is probably just a loose connection. I had the same issue with mine when I first purchased my 00 GS3. The door panel is the easiest thing to take off. There are DIYs that require removing the door panel all over the forums. It's just removing a bunch of screws and bolts and then sliding it off. You shouldn't have anything to worry about when you try this. Just make sure you hook up the switches when you put it back on or you'll have to take it apart and do it again.

2. Have you checked to see if there is anything obstructing movement? Also, it wouldn't be a fuse as you said you can hear the motor. It's most likely a problem in the motor itself. I'm not sure whether you can just buy a new one or not, though.

The wire was lose. Just like you said.

I found the problem with the seat. My kid lost a bead keychain in the car... He was playing in the front seat, didn't know this until I said to my wife :a guy on the forums said something might be stuck". Then the story was told. I just can't seem how to just pull it out and fix it.

Haha. Well, glad I could help. Maybe try prying it out with a screwdriver? If you can get it in, you can get it out, right?

Nice advise lol. I think I will pull the entire seat out this weekend and play mad scientist. If everything fails I have a nice large door-stopper.
