Default Key ? - Also Listed are Master Programming Rules

Gents,
I am trying to figure out some difinitive answers to the questions below. I've done a search but the information is conflicting. Does anyone know the following for sure?

1. Can an exisiting master/remote/transponder key be re-headed/shafted and then cut to fit your car? This would allow us to purchase used keys off of e-bay without paying $200+ for a new master.

2. Can local locksmiths cut the head/shaft for our Lexus Keys?

3. Does anyone know if the programming procedure below will work for our GS4/3s? I did a search on this board and found the following. No one has confirmed...

4. Who has paid the lowest price for a Master Key and where did you get it?

I hope the information below helps someone...

Thank you,
Eric
-------------------
I have an '01 LS430 and have been searching for info regarding programming of key transponders, key remotes, and C-BEST (option) codes.

I haven't yet found anything re the remotes or C-BEST, but I did find the following procedures for programming key transponders on 1998+ Lexus vehicles:

To delete all but one key:

Simultaneously depress and release brake and accelerator 1 time.
Insert an existing Master key, leave in OFF.
Within 15 seconds, depress/release accelerator 6 times.
Within 20 secs depress/release brake 7 times.

Security light will flash, indicating all keys other than the one being used have been deleted.

Within 10 seconds, remove the key from the ignition. This will be the ONLY key still programmed to work.

To add a duplicate key:

Simul depress/release brake and accel 1 time.
Insert existing master key.
Within 15 sec, press/release accel 5 times.
Within 20 sec press/release brake 6 times then remove key.
Within 10 sec insert new key.
Within 10 sec press/release accel 1 time.
After 80 secs, new key is registered and security light goes off.
Remove new key, preee/release brake 1 time.

The bad news is that I tried this procedure on my LS430 and was not able to make it work. I am curious to know if this procedure should work (and I am making some dumb mistake), or is this procedure incorrect or perhaps not applicable to the LS430?

If anyone could help here it would be appreciated, or if anyone has success (or failure) with the above procedures on their vehicles please let me know.

Also I would REALLY like to find the C-BEST option programming procedures. It seems crazy to have to go to a dealer for this.

Sorry about the really late reply guys....Haven't been online much. The key comes precut but you have to go to the dealer for the prgraming, usually it's free or aboutis 1/2 hour of labor charge. It's only take a few days for him to order the keys for you, just PM him.

When inserting the key, should it be in the OFF position as it indicates when you delete a key?

Is the master key from BDragon the remote key? Or is it just a regular key that serves as a master?
