General body kit install question
Hi all, I'm new here. Are there factory mounting locations already on the GS for the various side skirts, or is some drilling required?
Thanks

Not a one size fits all thing
I don't know for sure, but my guess is that only the L-Tuned will have any type of a use of factory holes/minimized drilling/cutting. Others may go this route but usually the form of the kit takes priority over the use of factory existing holes/mounting areas.

i agree with the others here. most should use the OEM ones, but that also depends on the installer, as far as how tight he wants the kit to stick to the car. installers may also make brackets to hold the bottom of rear bumper if it is lower than stock since that thing is like a parachute. that's why some kits have the openings in back...not just for cosmetics
i have an l-sportline kit and believe they used all or most of the factory holes

With my Veilside bodykit, it fit like a glove with all the stock locations. One thing with the stock bumper, they had to relocate horn and they had to lower the hangers for my APEX exhaust mufflers. Otherwise as easy as PIE.

relocate the horn? that's funky. a guy i know has the IMC kit, and it is a HORRIBLE fit. for the love of god, $100 civic pieces fit better. the side skirts are too long and they stick out at the top. that's exactly the type of stuff to avoid. it was hell to even get it on at all

It's not funky, just that the horn had to be moved up a few inches cuz it was rubbin against where airdam part of the kit is.
Yeah, that IMC sounds like a knock-off to me. When you get the "real deal" it fits perfect (as with most things, you get what you pay for).
