You can't be serious right. If this was the case, then a cheap 4 banger toyota corolla mpg would be worse than the 430 V8 because it has less h.p... I'm surprised no one else didn't catch this. I get great mileage in my 300. I've driven V8's all of my life so I wanted to change it up this time around. I'm not racing in my car, not doing rabbit starts at red lights, so I'm not worried about the extra h.p. that the 400/30 has.

True, but that 2-3 mpg adds up over the life of the full tank of gas. I'm around 270 miles at half tank. I even posted a pic on here to prove it. I drive very conservative though...

GS weights alo't more than a 4 banger toyota corolla! If you were to put a 4 cylinder on the Gs it will take alo't more fuel to get it going. That was my point.

Default I took the car to a mechanic

I watched the mechanic the entire length while he was cleaning the throttle body and replace the spark plugs. He told me to be very careful when taking out the spark plugs due to dirt and small debris around the spark plugs cavities. Blow compress air and check to make sure it was cleaned before he start removing the spark wires and plugs. Anyway, to access the spark plugs you may have to remove the throttle body anyway. I bought Lexus/Toyota OEM spark plugs. Anyway check your tires pressure too. I had the transmission flushed too. With regarding to MPG, its all depend on where you live. I just happy to get a little over 20MPG combined. City or Freeway, Its always Stop and Go for me.

I drive mostly in the city in Orange County, SoCAL. And the the speed limit is 45 MPH. And folks around doesn't drive slow, Rain or Shine. So with that saying. I am only averaging with my Inline 6 at 15.5 mpg. But I love how comfortable the car is, It's remind me of my father's Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. Weight equal comfortable ride

I don't know about you guys but I'm getting ****ty gas mileage regardless even though most of it is hiway. Driving 80% hiway, I'm seeing about 17 MPG. I have cleaned my MAF and throttle body last weekend and although it seems to pick up a little better, I just don't know what else I can do to up my gas mileage.

Get rid of your cart wheels, an if the outside diameter of your wheels are bigger than they should be then you are traveling further than your odometer says so your calculation comes out lower mpg than actual. Look up "inertia" and "unsprung weight"

Default Jersey mpg

[I live in jersey and get 17. Its all the stop go stop go. At red lights. If I drive barley pressing the gas I'll get 19 to 20 but the gs300 5 sp won't let you keep the rpm's down below 3 to 3500 in the first 3 gears.

QUOTE=KingNasGS4;5388217]WHAT?!?! 15 MPG?!?!

I would be satisfied for that gas mileage LOL living here in Brooklyn, gas mileage for my GS400 is about 10-12 miles per gallon. And NO its not only my car, from full, doing nothing but city driving I get about 200-220 miles outta the tank.

EVERYONE I know out here with a GS400/430 or LS400/430 gets the SAME sucky gas mileage. Matter fact I know GS300's get just about the same also.

What city do you live or drive in?
But seriously, 15 MPG aint that far off from the EPA estimate 17-18 MPG if you consider the fact that MOST cars don't get the estimated MPG.

If you feel that it's misfiring, check it out, though[/QUOTE]

My 99' Gs400 with a full tank of gas I get 400 + miles... If my tank is empty I fill it up until its tops off so, to get a full tank from empty, normally it would take 16.5 gallons or so. I do 80 miles mostly highway driving a day. I only use premium gas from Exxon or Bp..
