I lost my manual few years back.
My garage opener (the one that clips on visor) died and i have never used the garage opener that came from factory.
SO what do i need to get it to connect to my garages? It works fine but never connected to my garage since my first day of having my car.

You have to have the in-car garage door opener in order to program the homelink system in your car. The first step is to program one of your buttons to send your opener's signal and to do that you need the in-car opener. I'm not aware of a way to program the homelink transmitter without it.
If you can find the opener and program a button the next step is to press the "rolling code" button up on the receiver of the garage door opener. It is usually a button down near the edge of the opener. The homelink system will then capture the code from your opener which will enable it to open and close the door.
I still have my manual and I could send you the step by step instructions on exactly how to do this but I don't think you will have success unless you have the in-car opener that clips to your visor.
