I think they are a great solution, too bad they arent very customizable but none-the-less, very good replacement IMO.

no, i was referring to my seat (i have a 2001 model).my seat says SRS side airbag on it on it AND has a yellow plug/wire in the seatbelt harness (yellow wires like that are SRS systems) just like in this pic from the OP (its ALSO a 2001 gs430)

The only thing that concerns me is that some leather seats are really tore up. I know theres an SCx00 version coming out and I've reupholstered a few sets of SCx00 seats and I gotta say some seats are in really bad shape; cracked, dry leather, holes, tears, rips every where. The underlying foam was fully intact but I remember some the leather padding was missing.

Don't get me wrong, this beats reupholstering, but I just dont know if its suitable for seats that are in this bad of a shape.

Here's an illustration from my owner's manual. It clearly shows the side airbag deploying from the side of the seat. Based upon this photo, you can understand my safety concern with regards to the deployment obstruction by the seat covers.

Can any one that's had these for a while post an update of their impression over time?
I'm thinking about these to protect my prestine original leather, but hate seat covers... these look like a good compromise.

I'm placing my order for my custom interior next week and should be here in 8-10 weeks, so when they get here and I install i'll post a thread and keep it up to date.

They are. I am doing it fully custom and was quoted $450 before shipping, dude told me he'd get back to me with the shipping cost, so then I will know what the total charge will be. I guess they haven't been exposed to out of town business just yet because I was first told that I could pay half now and half when done, but when I told them I was from Texas and not Cali the guy I was going back and forth with told me that the factory is wanting all of the payment up front to get started so -shrug- i'm just going with it. Waiting on my quote on what shipping will be tomorrow, then will have the total amount. I will imagine it could possibly be 50-60 though. I'm sure it won't be that small of a package.
