I have had an optima red top on my 3000GT VR-4 for the past 5+ years without an issue. My VR-4 is a summer toy so it routinely sits for weeks/months at a time and cranks right up. I cannot think of many batteries that would perform the same without a battery-tender.

I'd highly recommend getting a Kinetic. Size options are available and is just plainly a better battery. I wouldnt get a yellow top battery though, I've found that they really dont like alternators twice did I blow a cell in them running them as a primary and a auxiliary battery, but if you do get either, make sure its a "GROUP 31" or better. ALL the ones you see at auto stores are Group 34 which is a standard battery.

I still say Kinetic for the price and power options.

I put an Optima redtop in my buddies car about 5 years ago. He is always leaves his lights on! I've also had great experiences with Interstate batteries. I think they won an award or something awhile back for best battery.

Yea worth it. Plus Autozone waranteed mine without a problem. Mine started dying at about 4 years old. Autozone installed a new one on the spot without a problem. So I basically lucked out and got two batteries for the price of one.

Optima’s are overpriced. East Penn Intimidator is the best AGM battery you can buy.
