I just swapped out my steering wheel and put in a rx wood one which I love a lot...!! But the stock airbag cover from my original wheel looks really ugly..could I just buy a airbag cover from a rx with out a airbag? Or what can I do. I kno that I could use any cover and just unbolt the airbag and bolt to the new one.

Just buy a cover. Forget the airbag. I had one go off and it scratched my eyeballs. Took forever to heal. I didn't even get hit that hard. Did more harm than good. I disconnect all of my airbags. Cars are safer today than they were in the old days and they didn't have them back then.

I'm sure you can buy anything you want as long as you pay for it.

Go find a wrecked one with the airbag already deployed. Probably get it for free.

nice could i use one off a gs430 or a 01+gs300. like would it fit perfect or should i just look for a rx300 one?

Contact KiPod -- he knows his stuff. I think the RX and 2GS (2001+) will fit.

And airbag covers are usually destroyed when the bag goes off...

You'll need a single stage bag unless you want to mod the dual stage like the SC guys. It's cheaper but I don't know if it's going to work. I went with single stage myself.

I'm pretty certain you cannot buy the air bag cover separately, but even if you could they would not be interchangeable with the 98-00. I would suggest looking for a used RX airbag as it is just plug and play and is single stage. Thats what I did with mine. If you get the 01-05 the plugs do not match up.

okay thanks.. i saw in another thread that you could just unbolt the explosive and swap it to the new cover then viola you have a new airbag cover with your old airbag.. IDK but how much did you pay for the used airbag? cuz im not really looking forward to wasting a whole lot of money on a airbag. and i seen them go for 200 if thats the case ill just keep it how it is.
