L-Tuned Exhuast = More Power?

L-Tuned Exhuast = More Power?
The L-Tuned website says that the sport mufflers and exhaust tips "...produce both an increase in power as well as a deeper tone." Well, I can vouch for the deeper tone but was wondering if anyone has objective data on how much power (if any) is really added?

Lexus claims 6 hp increase (imperceptible to your butt, though louder sounds faster). The exhaust is $676 from L-Tuned, I don't know what Steve Ganz can get it to you for, but probably about 10% less.

I think exhausts (any aftermarket) sound louder and probably seem to have more power but heck, a 10HP horsepower gain which is (REALISTICALLY) unheard of in a cat back really is just 5% of your 225 hourses. What exactly is 5% anyway? (Okay, I'm just preparing to get bashed now).
5% HP gain is what, .03 increas in your 0-60 ?? What's THAT????

I remember reading somewhere a while back with intake/exhaust discussion that you actually lose some low end torque, or low end pick up power. Is that true? (I searched, can't find anything, I even remember Bitkahuna said it )
Also, does that happen with just exhaust along? or is it an intake issue?

the exaust doesnt realy add that much power to the car, since its not a whole system, as for the intake and exaust yes you do loose power from the bottom end, now of you have an ECU with the intake then no you dont loose bottom end power you just dont gain any. Most exausts and intakes are made to change the mid to high end range, if you want bottom end then you have to get a TC or a LSD

I said before that when I dynoed my car for the first time, there was a guy on the dyno before me that dynoed his gs400 he had 7hp more than me and the only difference between us was his L-tune exhuast.

I haven't seen any aftermarket exhaust that targets "low end gain". If you are looking for some performance gain on NA, spend your money elsewhere as the dollar/horse is not worth the money.
If you have twin turbo, then that's another story. You would definitely need a more free flow cat-back. Have you seen any supra TT with stock exhaust?
In conclusion, for normal people, just pick the exhausts you like (noise level, look, budget).
