Default Intake plenum spacer? (GS400)

I was thinking of making an intake plenum spacer for my 400. Does anyone have any input or know how I would figure an optimal thickness?

Just read an article on how a MotorDyne 5/16" spacer gave a G35 10.1hp/13.7 lb/ft at the wheels...

(I searched...didn't find anything.)

That's because no ones ever done one on the GS, I had one on my accord before and it gave a few hp as well. However make a spacer isn't difficult it's a matter of makin it the optimal size, but bear in mind that it might require modification of the intake piping.

Sounds interesting, keep us updated on this if you ever come up with one and if it increases hp, tq then make me one also.

Got any pictures or link to that article

I saw a few ads from a company saying they had TB and plenum spacers for the GS400. However, everytime I called, they said they were still developing the product. After a year or so and still developing, I just gave up.

As for the question, yeah, it would be a cool thing to do, but our ECU's don't like change and reject a lot of intake mods. Hence, reason why those cheap and even custom intakes throw CEL without the proper tuning.

So this is pretty much kinda like a intake manifold gasket that sits the manifold higher correct? Is it because there's more room for air inside the manifold to create more hp?
or what does this really do to create 10+ hp

Interesting

intake spacers arent really worth it for the 1uz given the rather well designed intake manifolds. the reason VQ35 motors take to them rather well is because the intake manifolds from factory starved the last 2 cylinders.

I'm gonna give it a try -- looking for some 1/2" high-temp plastic tonight...
