I live in the high desert and we get some pretty insane wind gusts from time to time out here well anyways yesterday it was blowing steady at 20-30mph and my car was parked at work when the lady next to me let loose of her door and it slammed into my passenger side mirror. It cracked the mirror and the plastic casing. The inner motor still works. She was nice enough to come to my office and let me know and is willing to either pay outta pocket or take it through her insurance. My question to you guys is what would you do? Would you take cash and try upgrading to some side mirrors with turn signals from NIGEL or just go to Lexus and get a replacement mirror. Anybody know off hand what a factory replacement mirror would run that is paint matched? I have a 99' GS3 Alpine silver if that helps. -thanks all

I'll have to get a quote from Lexus and see what a complete mirror from them would cost and cross check what a set from NIGEL and the JDM "blue" mirrors would cost plus paint.

yea for reals.. she is cool I've known her for years. Probably helps that i work at a goverment facility so you have to be very honest about everything you do. I'm sure if i was at the movies they would have just changed parking spots like the A-hole that scratched my car a few weeks ago..

I'd take the cash. I wouldn't try and gouge her for money though. Just something reasonable. It was an accident. I usually don't sweat it if it was just an accident. It does happen. I would get some LED turn signal mirror covers myself

If she only knew how much the mirrors were lol, she probably would have run. I hate having people who did the right thing to have to pay props to her. From the factory the mirror is like $500 bucks plus paint so like another $60 Sometimes you can get lucky and find a used one on ebay for like $200-250. Good luck

oh and remember, if you buy used, not all GS mirrors are created equal the 98-00 have a different mounting holes than the '01+ and have different plugs too. I found out the hard way and had to cut the wires and switch the bases, doubt you want to do all that

Dam sorry to hear that, didn't know these mirrors were so expensive...your problem will remind me to fold them everytime I Park!
