Default Need Help on Pioneer Avic Z110BT Install

Hi All, this is my first post, but have been a stalker for a long time: ) I think you guys have helped out thousands and I hope to be one of them. I recently posted this on AVIC411, but have not received any response so I am hoping you all could help.

I finally purchased the Z110BT and am ready to install, but do not want to go and hardwire every connection in the unit. Is there a harness that I can use for a 2001 Lexus GS300? I've done some research and came across a Lexus IS Blog in which they mentioned using Metra TYTO-01 harness, but not sure if its only good for the IS? I've also been reading that I can't or should be very careful in keeping my stock speakers because they are 2 ohms vs the minimum 4 required by the unit? Any thoughts on this? Basically, what I want to know is if I have to go and purchase an amp and 4 new 4 ohm speakers before installing the unit?
If I do need to purchase, any recos and where to buy from?

Thx!!

When i did my double din install i first read the diy in the DIY section at the top of the gen2 gs page. Then i ordered my wire harness from crutchfield because of the tech support. If you run into any issue they will walk you through any problems you may run into. GL

I'm guessing your talking about the power harness? That harness is http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1207017...s.html?tp=2977

As far as adding an aftermarket HU to stock speakers, I don't know why you couldn't do that. But you can also replace your speakers. That's your choice

Thx, I will go ahead and look into this, but I've read on some post that if you use the stock speaker with a lower Ohm rating than the one the HU is supporting, you are in danger of blowing it out and in some other post others say that they have not had any problems? Did you use your stock system with your double din install?
