Default rear tail lights

I just got my cleared out tail lights for my 99GS4, and I want to still have the indicator to blink amber...the light is clear and with the clear lens, it blinks white. Does anyone know where to get amber replacement bulbs for this application? Also, if this is not available is the only other option to get bulb paint and DIY? Also heard about some silver bulbs that blink amber by I think Phillips. If anyone has any info..please let me know. Thanks

Default amber

You can purchase them from Polarg. They make them in the amber color for the GS and many other models I am sure..... They will run about $10 per bulb, but are higher quality and brighter too.

Clear tail lights seem a little ricey for a GS IMHO.

Unhappy Clears

Well... if he is talking about what I think he was referring to... I think it is only the orange part. They are not all clear. That would look "RICE". But I have them in mine and everyone I have come across is taking a second look which is followed by a compliment...\\ See.. they are not ALL clear.

Well what I was hoping to find was a bulb that the glass was completely clear, and then they would still light up orange at night. But i dont think they make them.

Default clear tail lights

Yeah that picture is what I meant..all clear would be ricey. BY the way the 98-00 GS uses 2 "7443" double filament bulbs and 1 "7440" single filament bulb for the indicator and reverse lights for each tail light. Check out www.xtremewhite.com . They have a chart for all the lights. I'm getting some LED type lights cos perhaps they may work like those in the new CTS and S-class. We'll see.

Thumbs down Clears

Ain't it just great to live in the good ole' US of A??? Anyhow.... FYI, my tail lights are not all clear. Only the orange, but ok. It's all good. I like it and that's all that really matters in the end. . . Thanks for your opinion. Now, on to better things... Yes they do make a clear bulb that lights up orange. I think it has like 3 or 4 small "heads". It is the same size as the regular bulbs. I just remembered that I saw them when I got mine. They were around $20 each. If you can't find them where you live, let me know. I can get them for you here in LA.

oh, i see what you guys are talking about now. not that ricey stuff i seen on teamlexus. that looks real nice. i think if they made the '01+ lights with the clear indicator that would be even better.

Default 2001+

hm.. i wonder... has anyone out there cleared out the amber on the 2001+ tailights?? i havent seen that anywhere yet.. if someone out there did or have some pics i'd like to see what they'd look like. never saw it visually.. but thought about it in my head~ i think it'd look pretty clean. right now on mine i made it all red (using the transparent paint) and just doing that made it look tight.

by the way.. for those wondering if that paint would look tacky, cheesy, or fake, i have to say it blends in with the rest of the light really really well.. can't tell if was even painted! maybe if i get off my lazy butt this summer i'd take some pics of my car... i love my car so much and i dont even have one single pic...
