Default over metal plate, big POP, now this...

hello all,

i was driving earlier tonight and hit a metal plate while making a left turn. it made a big pop sound similar to a tire blowing..i pulled into some parking lot and saw this in the rear...

there is no more thread below that nut

this is the normal looking side.
i pushed my trunk up and down and it still jumps back up both left rear and right rear height looks even still
anyone know what in the world went wrong? any info would be greatly appreciated oh i have tein cs v2 the rear is maxed out and front with about 1/2 inch left it that helps anything..thanks for reading

edit:couple months ago the middle nut(i think its a 21mm) flew off while driving on the 10E in socal. i just tightened it back. this was installed by promax in alhambra btw. so i wont recommend them unless you want to replace speed sensor(out of my own pocket) and having parts flying out from your suspension plus the 6 hr wait which i just sat there thinking they were fixing my speed sensor but ended up giving me a quote

your shock is damanged. this is seen mostly on cars that has no preload. looks like your shock compressed down so low that it had no where to go but up. usally this happends in the front of the car which resulted in a dent in the hood or even a hole.

It looks like you forgot to put that one washer on to hold it in it's place, so it wouldn't go up like that. I don't know what it's called but it's the first washer that goes on before the other bushings.

Happens a lot on tein super lol street. The top hat is busted. I would replace it instead of trying to rebuild it.

this is a perfect example of poor shock design. I hate to tell you the bad news but that shock is ruined. What has happened is the internal shims have been bent which results from overload and overtime, the oil chambered gets contaminated therefore leading to premature shaft damage.

Hmm not sure how to replace a top hat. Have to get home from and do a search. Any chance you know if it is a difficult task?
