Those will work. I tried some like that at first but i did not like how they lit up the housing. It only created a "hot spot" of light, just a tiny portion of the housing lit up. I got the "flank" bulbs. I since changed from 4 to 6 LEDS. LEDS
are only on one side and light up really nice and match the HID headlights.

so the ones that are forward pointing dont light up a bunch of the housing correct, so i should go with the ones that are flat? what about the ones that are square and they have leds on each side then one on the front

For DRL 9005 to work, you need this harness:

I have these bulbs:
however they are sold out and can't find it on the site.

Yes,forward facing won't light up housing as well.
I have not tried the other ones you mentioned, but they sound ok. I got all of my LEDS for the GS from V-LEDS,great quality.

i would think the flank ones would only have light on top where they are facing, i would think these ones would spread light everywhere

The reflector spreads the light out pretty well in the housing.
The other ones look good too, give 'em a try!
