Default HVAC Diagnosis

Is there any way you can push a series of buttons on the HVAC unit to make it spit out trouble codes (self diagnosis) ?

The best way is to have a pro do it for you. An ODBII scan tool could read some codes on some cars. On others a blinking lite on the A/C control panel gives the code. I don't know what cars are which. By turning the ignition switch on while pressing the A/C control AUTO switch and R/F SW simultaneously will give the codes. The R/F switch is the one that you select between outside air and recirc air. To escape you hit the off switch.
