Default Custom fitted sub enclosure for 2gs

Hi guys, just like to share with you guys, some of you might be looking for setup that doesnt take too much trunk space. The guy did a really clean job, oem fitment. Sounds really clean if you have a nice 12" sub and best of all you still have a lot of trunk space!

I ordered it from a guy on ebay, its about $170 thats the box plus shipping, here is the ebay listing, you can request single sub or dual setup whatever you want

Sure they are very nice, but its still a prefab box with no where near enough air space for a woofer. A box like that will shorten the life of your woofer a lot quicker than a proper box. The box only has .91 cubes of air? most 12's need about 1.5 in a sealed box and dont forget, thats .91 BEFORE the displacement of the woofer which will significantly reduce the air space... if anyone is planing on using this box (which is very nice 'looking') I highly recommend inverting the woofers and having the magnets facing out for 2 reasons, 1) you gain that much needed extra air space and 2) it will help keep the coils from baking inside the box...

Yes... I agree with Jokster... It looks very appealing though, I must say... Maybe he can do something for me for my 2 15's Mojos. But I think I need at least 2.5 cf per sub...

Oh can you post back the pic you intended to? I am sure I am not the only one that would like to see how it turned out!

its .91 cubic feet per chamber but when you go with 1 sub setup, he makes the box double that, so 1.82, plenty of space, trust me the ported setup is very clean, ill post how it sounds later so you guys can make a better judgement. Plus do you really need 2 subs?

Who the hell asks if 2 subs are needed? I had 8 15's in my last car! Never enough.... HOWEVER with our limited space (without building a complete fiberglassed trunk) 1 sub in an optimum box would be best... I'm currently selling my 2 12's and moving to one 15 in a 5-6cu box. Now that i think about it... 1.8cu is pretty small considering all the space we have back there... I'd totally opt for the single enclosure ported of his box (depending on how he calculated his port size) Knowing me, if I were to lazy to build a box, I'd buy his ported one and modify it as many say, if you like it, I Love it...

on a different note, I love engineering sub enclosures to belt out ridiculous pressure so wouldnt be too happy with just whatever

hey OP what subs are you gonna put in there? I'd highly recommend a pair of solo barics since they dont need much air space. In addition to my previous statement about air space, the rule of thumb is that the back of the woofer (or the front depending which way you decide to have the woofer facing) MUST be 4 inches or more from the back of the box any closer, you get some fighting from the bass bouncing back and hitting the woofer too soon thus creating cancellation... just a little 411

ha ha, just got that. SORRY OP, you're right no one ever 'needs' more than one woofer...

hahhaha @ jokster... I could see us being cool friends we think alike... I would like to see some pics of that 8-sub set up bro! Any recommendation on a box enclosure for my MOJO's. I have the 15MOJOQ1. They are quad coil(ed) subs and they require 2.5 cf as I said before. I have a ported box right now but I never hooked them up to hear them. The dude I bought them from said he hit like 164 db with them in that box. A bit hard to believe but Memphis does make a pretty good sub and at 2000 watts rms (500 rms per coil), I was wondering if you have a good amp that I could run per sub too... Let me know what you think...

^^ seriously! Bass heads, Excellent SQ set-ups dont require 164 dbs and a gazzillion 18 inch subs. Hell, the 10" free air in the GS is "very doable" with the right driver and amplification to be competitive in an SQ show.

^^^ I think you missed the point, Its just a want, rather than a need... Oh and speedaddic, I need some room for a stroller soon too, might just strap it to the hood lol... Nah j/k, I have the accord or the durango for that...
