Default My Goodness! What a difference. But still a problem.

So I missed having a Lexus in the garage and bought my ’01 GS300 earlier in the year.

It didn’t take long for me to realize something wasn’t right.
Vibration, wondering all over the lane on the freeway, a metallic knock from the front end, various cracking knuckle sounds when maneuvering in the parking lot.

The car got scary at speed if I hit a bump…
Breaking was a scary item as well.
NOT what I expected.

So I availed myself of the great resource that is ClubLexus and figured I needed to do something about it.

So last week, I finally got all the pieces put on…

DAIZEN Front Control Arm Bushing Kit
DAIZEN Sway Bar Bushing Kit
DAIZEN Steering Rack Bushing Kit
OEM Tie Rod Ends & Lower Ball Joint Set
Bilstein Sport Shocks all around

Four wheel alignment.
Balance and rotate tires.

My GOD – the car feels GREAT!

GREAT!

Thanks to all at ClubLexus for the great info and advice.
And thanks to John and Sandy at Exact Motorsports in Milpitas for doing the hard work.

But there is a problem now –
I want to GO FAST….

Lets see:

TM Engineering for
DAIZEN Front Control Arm Bushing Kit
DAIZEN Sway Bar Bushing Kit
DAIZEN Steering Rack Bushing Kit
OEM Tie Rod Ends & Lower Ball Joint Set

$460

Bilstein Sport Shocks

$479

John's labor at Exact to do all the work

$686

Alignment

$129

Balance and rotate tires at America's Tire FREE (that I like)

So....

460+479+686+129= $1,754

Not cheap, but Sewell sells a Front Suspension Kit for $1,516.14.

That's just the parts, and no shocks.

I got all the same front end work done.
Plus the sway bar bushings (front and back) and the steering rack bushings and Bilstein shocks for about $200 more.

But dang - it feels better than new now - it's actually FUN to drive now...
