2004 GS430 pics
i'm presently searching for my 1998-99 gs400 but am being warned by my father (who just talked to his friend at the lexus dealership in Plano, TX) that the 2004 body style is going to change for the GS and that it's actually coming out in spring 2003. in his mind (and his friend's) this is going to hurt values on the body style i'm looking at....does anyone have pics of the new body style from a carshow somewhere or something? any thoughts on this decision i'm making? i hate to take a big hit on the value of my car only 6-9 months after buying it. (that's why i'm buying pre-owned in the first place)
i'm still excited, the gs is the only combination of luxery, sport, and low maintenance that i see out there for $26-28k, but appreciate input and pics.........

Liazon - As far as I know, Lexus has not announced a 2004 redesign for the GS, but most car magazines an many others with insight into Lexus seem to agree that there will a redesign introduced in 2003, as a 2004 model.
As far as value of you car decreasing...it stands to reason that the retail/trade-in value of the GS will decrease after the next generation is released...just how much, we don't know.
But you also have to consider that current GS are selling well below MSRP...when the next generation is introduced I'm almost postive it will be sell at or very near MSRP for at least the first couple of model years.
Also, remember a luxury car is not an investment...it is a luxury item for which you will invariably lose money (unless it becomes a classic)

Dang, we should just make that GS pic the main page of clublexus.com! It shoudl symbolize a pathetic excuse for photoshopping and outline what a daewoo + a lexus can look like.

That's correct.
Toyota/Lexus have traditionally been extremely good at keeping things under wraps until they are ready for the world to see them. Every "spy shot" that I've seen of upcoming models has subsequently been proven to be crap when the actual model was shown. And we have some very sharp, very savvy users of Photoshop here on CL who can spot just about every 'shop job, no matter how good.
Gotta wait, is the bottom line.
