Question Tire: Bridgestone S-03 or the Toyo T1s

I know this is an old topic, but what do you guys suggest? I can get the S-03 or the Toyo T1s for the same price, ($158, $154). I like the tread patten of the T1s a lot, which one should I buy?

Thanks in advanced for your advices.

S03 quieter on the street. Dry grip is close between the two. T1-s may have th eedge in the wet. Some race concerns even use the T1-s as their rain tire.

T1-s gets a little louder as they wear, dont know about the S03 if this happens.

If I had to buy again, I would still go for the S03.

Part of the appeal of the T1 was it was less costly but they have moved their prices higher and higher.

This is my 4th set of TOYO Proxes (previously T-1). They are the "Schiznit"! I will definitely be slapping on a set of these on my new 350Z a.s.a.p.!!!

Default www.tirerack.com

You should read the review on tirerack.com, the biggest thing that I found out was the the s-03 wears fast, as it is a softer compound than the toyo.....hope that helps.

Peter at Wheel Experts suggested treadepot.com to me, and they ended up being the best deal I'd come across on a 245/40/18 T1-S. Customer service seemed good. Shipping was very reasonable. They actually shipped each tire in its own box.

Thanks for all of your advises. The price I quoted are from tirerack.com and treaddepot.com. I have read some reviews on the S-03 and T1s. And most of the owners like their tires (either the s -03 or the T1s). That is why it makes tougher to decide which one to get. S-03 was selling a lot more than $158 just a few months ago. (over $200 for sure). I would go for the T1s if the price of the S-03 didn't come down so much recently.

Anyway, more advices on just this two tires will be appreciated.

I agree Toyo T1-S's get louder as they wear! Mine are MUCH louder now than when they were new. I hope to find some non-directional tires next time... anyone know if you can get these sizes in non-directional tires? (245/40-18 and 275/35-18).

Tirerack has the Pirelli P Zero Rosso in those sizes. It is Asimmetrico.
245/40-YR18 $219 vertical letters
275/35-yr18 $254 vertical letters

Very nice tire. Had them on the car along with 02's and 03's.
The Rosso's have a better ride on the street than the 02's and 03's. Quieter than the 03's. Rosso's do trammel a little more than the S03's on the grooved freeways out in California.
Rosso's have very good grip. Decent at Drivers Schools(track time) also. Good thing about them can rotate side to side without taking them off the wheel and remounting since not directional. Hope this helps some.

Just checked tirerack the S03's same sizes are $195 for the 245's and $220 for the 275's. THey are $116 cheaper than Rossos for the set of 4. So price in the same ballpark.
