I've had my '99 for 11.5 years now, not a single problem - IMO its probably one of the best years and strongest year.. I've raced my car so hard my borla tips were glowing and the car just purrs... Get one if you can find one. I tried to get a 2nd 400.. but they're so Hard to find in that year in Excellent condition (though i'm picky as Hell) LOL

Good Luck!

first off, doobie -- you wish you had a 4 but bro i wish i had your car...mine was less than perfect and i regret buying it for little reasons (previous bodywork, broken clips in places) but i digress

OP - have owned my 2k gs4 for a year and a half. 40k miles, no problems, CEL right now for the cats...test pipe please haha. but like 1qwk said, i beat the hell out of mine and it seriously runs so strong..I honestly love the v8 everything about it, and so do people i know who are typical domestic mustang boys...

Agreed with everyone above, but don't forget to watch for the ball joint problem with the 98-00 GS's.

gs400 are pretty reliable but watch out for high mileage vehicles and wear items

any year is good, just look for a low mileage one that looks like it was taken care of. Luckily, alot of older cats own these as well. usually better taken care of.
