Got Borla Tips Installed

just had my new BORLA tips installed from Drewgs4....appreciated the quick shipping btw.
i had them more thoroughly installed than some others because there is about a 1/2 gap between the diameter of the stock pipe and the diameter of the new tip. too much in my opinion (and my welder) for a tac weld. i did knock of the exiting tips, then cut the pipe back about 2.5", then welded on a piece of pipe that essentially increased the diameter of the existing pipe so the new tip would fit more snugly and there wouldn't be any chance of it falling off. this cost me $60 and i feel 'solid' abou it. it looks awesome. the stock look is weak in comparison (just my opinion, now). i'll post a pic, and you can decide.
oh yeah! the car is coming together.

That looks so sweet. IMO you went a bid overboard in cutting your stock tips. I have mine on for over 10k miles and I had them tac welded without any cutting. They never moved out of place and are very secure. I can understand you just wanted the added insurance of them never ever coming off....but its not needed. I reached 135mph the other day, and my tips are still
on
Indeed there is . 5 inch gap, but that gets all sealed up in the tac welds, as the copper wire gets melted in there securing it very tightly. For added insurance, have the mechanic over tac weld them )
Again looks very tight!

I really think those Borla tip is larger than the Borla S/S exhaust. The tips look better IMO. If I still have some pictures of my old Borla on my apt computer, I will post up tomorrow and let the public to compare. Need some web space to store the pictures, Ray?
I've never seen any "performance gain" by just exhaust tips.

Borla Tips - '03 LS 430???
OK experts, what do you think Borla tips would look like on my 430? I see them on the smaller Lexus cars, but not on the 400-430;s. Just curious what you guys would think? I know I need something back there because I don't like that "void" look. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Perform the search, look for threads by Synergy. He has some good, recent pics. The borla tips look much nicer than stock and better than most of the aftermarket.
