Angry My damn car is BACK in the SHOP!!

Well after I just received my car about 2 weeks ago, i brought it in fir new tires because of a bad noise coming from right rear. The bodyshop guy told me it was the steel in the tire that broke and it's making that "wooowooo" noise. So anyway the tire guy told me my tires are fine and that in fact it's the right rear hub bearing. I dunno what that is but the tire guy told me the car shouldn't be driven. So Now I gotta take it BACk to the bodyshop who screwed up and wait again. Hopefully it'll be ready by tomorrow.

I would consider taking it to your dealership to have a Lexus mechanic take a peek to be sure befoire you start following the advice of a tire shop and body shop techs. I'm sure they do good work, but they might not know enough about your GS to warrant following their advice unchecked.

Default Tire problem in the body shop

STEEL belts in tires don't "break", but they could seperate. Of course, if you have a seperation, then you'll feel the vibration, and not necessarily the "woooowoooo" noise.

My experience with this noise has usually been the hub or bearing, especially on the early generation LS.

Tires are not rocket science, but everyone seems to be an expert.

Good luck!

Yeah... that noise caused by bad wheel bearings is commonly mistaken for tire road noise.

I had this verified on my car from a very respected source.
