Are you talking about the price difference between a new 430 and a used 400 or are you referring to a MSRP increase when the 430 was introduced?

If the 430 is such a rip off, why didn't you get a 400

I reffering to when the GS430 was introduced. The current MSRP is 50k, right?

I got a 430 and not a 400 because i wanted black on black, hids, navigation, etc, and a family friend was selling it for just about 40k, which seemed like a great price, which it was. I wasnt really aware of the diff. between the 430/400 engines, and if i would have known the only diff. was torque, i would have spent more time looking for a fully loaded 400-- but that would have been hard, so the GS430 was the easiest and nicest with ML and nav, heated seats, etc.

I really got a great deal on mine..but I have to say I love it, and really can't argue for the power being a I6. I didn't think it'd be able to, but this sedan can really get out of its own way.

As a GS300 owner, I can tell you that I don't regret my purchase. Given the extra money, SURE, I would get the GS4 in a heart beat. But considering what it would have done to my lease payments, I just couldn't afford it at that time.

The GS3 has a good amount of power, but don't expect it to be a hot rod racing everyone. You will be dissapointed if that is the case. But if you like all of the other qualities, then there is nothing really to regret.

I think it really comes down to budget. Money no object, I would have gotten an M5 (or 360/575 if we are really dreaming here).

Are you buying or leasing your car? If you are buying, you will probably do better with the GS300. The reason is the GS400 depreciates faster. When I was looking at buying my pre-owned GS nearly 2 years ago, I thought there was no way I could afford a 400. Luckily for me, they were only a grand or 2 more then the GS300. I jumped at it. I'm still amazed I'm driving a GS400 since I see so few of them around.

If you are leasing, it won't matter to you since you will be turning the car in at the end, so depreciation will make less of a difference.
