Default Creaking Moonroof TSB

Does anybody have a copy of the TSB that deals with the creaking moonroof? I have seen a few references to it, but all of the links have been outdated.

Also, what needs to be done to fix this successfully? I recently bought a used GS400 and would like to get the info, before I take the car to the dealer.

Thanks!

Axel

I have brought it to my dealer's attention already, and they checked and told me that i already have the updated housing or fitting parts (might be something worth asking for on your car), so not much they can do. They did re-lubed the entire sunroof area, plus my front windows, cause they were all making little noises. It helped for ~2 weeks, then I think it came back. I am thinking next time, i may ask for replacement pending on how the noise develops in the next few months.

I can't hear the creaking now, all i can hear is the Ltuned mufflers that I just put on, so that may be your other solution

Default MY RX300 HAD THE SAME PROBLEM

Last week I took my wifes RX300 (01) to the dealer for this creaking sound that was driving me crazy. They told me there was a GS repair kit for this exact problem. Sure enough that was the fix. They replaced the black plastic trim on the inside of the sun roof. Not a peep since.

I have the same problem; lucky my car is still under the warranty. I took it to the dealer, they told me most of the Lexus have that problem “Too much heat from the sun & the plastic around the sun roof shrink”
After the service the sound stops.

I just noticed that in my 98 GS 300 today, and remembered stumbling across this thread yesterday.

Im going to give the dealer a call.

Thanks again!

Is the plastic that is replaced on the glass moonroof itself or the track the moonroof moves on?

Unhappy

hey the sc has this problem too, i also noticed that if i slam my door u can see the sun/moonroof bounce up from the air pressure, they need to make these things a little sturdier.

for a solution i just turn the volume **** clockwise.
