Default 98 gs300 i need some help!

Hey everyone! Well i was driving one day, then i notice that when i press the accelerator, the car wasnt reving until i floored it. Pulled over shut the car off then turn back on and it worked fine for a couple days then boom! check engine, VSC and VSC OFF came on. I did some research on the forums and found out that its in "LIMP MODE". Ordered the Throttle Position Sensor and worked fine for a couple miles, then happens again. I called my father in law because he works at lexus of alexandria in virginia and he know the mechanics there and they said that they changed the whole throttle one time for a customer and it still "LIMPED" so they decided to change the fuel pump, then everything was fine...does this sound right??? If it is should i buy the whole throttle w/ the sensors that i found on ebay for 250 or should i buy the fuel pump, a new one for 170?

thanks guys

Check what error code you get. I bet a fuel pump problem will not trigger the same code as an VSC problem.
