Default What are the instructions to sync your garage door to your car?

I'd like to sync my 2 garage doors to my '98 GS400 buttons, but I can't find any info on how to do it.

Does someone have the instructions?

If anybody else is wondering how this is done, you hold the remote garage opener within 3" of the button you want to program. Press and hold the button on the remote and the button you want to program at the same time. The red light will stop flashing quickly when it is set. Test the button, if it works, you're all set. Most likely, you will have to press the program button on the garage door unit then run out to your car and press and hold the same button you want to program. If you have a light on your garage door opener, it will blink, if you don't have one, it may output an audible "click" sound. You have 30 seconds from when you press the program button on the garage door to get back in your car to press the program button again.

yup, and if you have to delete existing programmed codes from the homelink, hold the two outside buttons down together for 20 seconds.

Also, this will delete all programmed codes, you cannot delete individual buttons. Another FYI for those out there, these instructions are pretty consistent for any vehicle with the programmable garage buttons. I think they all use the "HomeLink" system. Case in point, my 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee has the same steps in the manual as my 01 GS300
