Good job on the exhaust work. Why do you want to remove any of the resonator? On top of that, did you know that because you went to 2.5" piping, you're loosing valuable horsepower??

dude i know!!. they didnt even tell me it was, it actually was very noticable! i was pissed. but people said its normal when you have no mufflers. i dont know much lol. but isn't it good when your car is boosted? one day it will be turbocharged or sc, witchever one will be cheaper lol

Exhaust flow will all be dependent upon what FI methods you use. For a turbo car, you're gonna have to change up the exhaust system again. Note one thing, boosting any lexus the right way will not be cheap. It will cost 50% of the cost of your car depending how you want it to be built. I set out $5k to build my sc'd GS300 but I've crossed that budget now. And I do all of my work too. So there's simply no cheap way to boost a lexus properly.

So all you did is remove all 3 resonators and added the custom pipe now what if you had a larger pipping done will you still be loosing horsepower?

Depends if the piping is too big, your exhaust gasses cool down much faster. When exhaust gasses cool down, they travel slower. Hence the power loss.

A resonator does not affect flow, unless it's baffled.

If you decide to go the FI route, you would probably have to upgrade to 3" piping or so.

I'd say you'd loose low end torque especially.

i thought when this is done you just lose a little low end torque and gain high end horsepower... i always thought there was some gain. i feel like there is cause since my solenoid has been messed up iv been using the gear 3 on the highway alot and i remember it would redline at like 80, but now with my new exhaust setup i can get up to exactly 100 in 3rd. does this sound right?

You definately lost some low-end, but maybe 2.5" is the right size for the GS400, and in that case you may have gained some high-end.

I come from a Honda Prelude, and when you go the N/A route, everything above 2.5" made you loose low- & high-end power.

As for the topspeed in 3rd. I'd guess that the gearbox stays longer in third gear before shifting to 4 for some reason...
