Need some Schematic Help - MAF Sensor
Hey guys,
I know I asked a couple of people if this was possible and after spending last night doing some research, I am a bit curious as to if I can do this and be problem free... Actually I dont see why it shouldnt work...
So here goes, I am wondering if any-one has a schematic diagram/wiring configuration for a 98-2000 gs400 and a 01-05 gs430? I am attempting to see if the K&N FIPK cold air intake for the 400 will work on the 430. As I was told and actually saw for myself yesterday the sensors are different (confirmed) However, they both have 5 wires but different color codes. The plugs are the same though, that's a bit confusing... So I took off the MAF from the 400 and put it on the 430 but it would not stay on at all... - Not shocked... But tried it any way...
I know some were wondering about putting a k&N set up on the 430 as Ive read a few threads on this. Oh FYI I asked this question on a past thread as well but just now developed the courage to try this. So please disregard if you saw me asking such any where...
Any input will be greatly appreciated... thanks to Dave and Brian for your input on this thus far.

rich have you thought bought sealing that oem area and cutting another hole to mount your gs430 one OR a even better thought would be to make a block off plate that you can use in the existing location on the gs400 intake and use the same screws to mount the gs430 MAF sensor?

I couldn't find a schematic for GS400, only for GS430 and 98-00 GS300. Here you go:
GS300:

GS430:

Scroll to the right, MAF sensor is on the second page.

MAF Plug configuration for the 2nd Gen GS430:
1: +B - White(wire)
2: E2G - Green/White(wire)
3: VG - Blue/Yellow(wire)
5: E2 - Brown(wire)
4: THA - Pink/Blue(wire)
MAF Plug configuration for the 2nd Gen GS400:
4: +B - Black/Red(wire)
1: THA - White/Red(wire)
3: E2G - Grey(wire)
5: VG - Red/Blue(wire)
2: E2 - Brown(wire)
So all you do is basically match the signals from the 430 to the 400 and vice versa; that is e.g. THA to THA: Pink/Blue from the 430 wiring to White/Red on the 400 plug. It is very simple, the hardest thiing is actually getting the MAF sensors with plugs from both cars to do an even swap. The only thing is that you will have to use only applicable 400/430 intake systems for whichever car you have them on. I hope that makes some sort of sense. If anyone wants to try this and is confused, hit me up and I will try and explain better...
As per Brian, I will try to get some pics up soon to show what I did.
