I have my GS430! :)
After dealing with the long lines at the motor vehicles, I'm finally able to drive my 2001 GS430. I recommend anyone on the east coast to check at Manheim Auto Auction in PA for your next pre owned Lexus. I paid $33400 for my car with 31k miles all stock w/NAV. There were lots of GS's to choose from with varying years and mileage. Chances are you will find what you are looking for in 1-3 visits. This car is so powerful. After driving our new 2002 ES and my 1999 GS300, I was't prepared for the burst of speed I would get when I pressed the gas pedal. Me and my wife agree that this car isn't as quiet and smooth as the new ES, but I'm going to put some money into the suspension and tires to improve that. Suggestions Needed!!! I'm not a speed fanatic but I love to have confidence to jet pass slow movers on the highway. I have to get my digital camera back from my friend soon so I can take pics of the GS and ES together. My neighbor who owns a BMW 5 series and a X5 came over and complemented me on the GS. He admitted that BMW interiors suck (we knew that already) compared to Lexus but still thinks he is the king of the block. It's good to hear a BMW owner give us props.
-BTW-
Since when did Lexus make the wallet key able to start the vehicle? I don't think my old GS did that. Also, can you get the ES300 compass to display the cabin temperature? I know when you first start the car that the compass displays Fahrenheit and Celsius symbols so it may be true.
Also, the nav dvd copies now work flawlessly in the GS.

Yes you do. I paid a local dealer $500 to take me up there with him. I wish I would have known about it sooner. They had a perfect diamond white 99 LS 400 that sold for $19000 with 45k miles. You won't find those kind of deals anywhere except for maybe ebay. Don't get me wrong, some of the cars where poorly taken care of and may need tires and a good detailing but you just have to look at all the cars good and try to bid on the one you want. My GS430 was a repo and was being sold by Toyota Motor Credit. Talk to used car dealers, I'm sure if you offer them some dollars they will let you go up with em.

Certified funds are required at time of delivery. Financing would have to be taken care of through your personal financial institution. That's the way it works at a majority of auto auctions.

Next a warning... most folks who hang out here usually start off with comments like you made above. All it takes is for you to change one thing and then BAM!!, the mod bug grabs you and you get sucked into group buys... spark plugs, intakes, tail lights, wheels, etc. It can be very addictive
Head on over to the suspension forum, and browse around. Lots of good info, but the general consensus is that the L-Tuned suspension package offers a great overall deal... increased handling performance, subtle lowering, and still maintains a great ride.
