yeah have a nice looong key mark on the left side of my car too. It's pretty deep too. I'm not going to do anything now cos I'm still short of money and time at the moment. Hopefully the next person would be repelled by the old mark. I dunno. It still hurts though. Poor thing took one for me it seems.

Hey, another CO person! Sorry to hear about your car. Nylunds is really good, all the jaguar, mercedes and bmw dealerships (even saw a rolls their once) take their cars there. Call up the Ferrari of Denver place and see where they take their cars.
Is insurance covering any of it? I know of a few more places just as good, maybe a little cheaper. I'll scrounge around for the list and when I find it I'll post it to this board.
Hey, check out the Club Meetings section, you should join us this Sunday at Clement Park... waaaay too many IS300s show up

Dont' the insurance cover your car if it is damage by any thing. I mean someone Keyed your whole right side or left or even ur whole car would the insurance cover that.....i mean it seems like a hate crime, hating on you! crime....some1 gots 2 pay for it but it shouldn't be us.

My car got keyed 2 weeks ago. The whole door was scratched down to the primer in some spots. Lucky for me, scratches don't really show on a white car.
Before this, my car was absolutely mint with no dings or scratches, never been to the bodyshop.
I thought about getting the door repainted, but I'm going to leave it alone because I want to keep the factory paint.
Here's what I did that helped the scratch a lot.
I washed the area really well using a good quality car wash soap.
Then, I used some compound to help buff the scratch out.
I buffed like crazy over and over again for about 20 minutes. Results weren't miraculous, but it helped.
Then I applied a layer of Mothers cleaner wax. Followed by another layer, and a third, fourth, and a fifth....
I'm kind of happy with the results.
Everyone else says the scratch is almost invisible, but to me its a wound that just won't heal.
All that wax residue really helped fill the scratch up.
Now, more than ever, I park my car a mile away from everyone else so if someone wanted to key it, they would have to walk out of their way to do it and risk getting shot in the ***, and the head, if I ever see them.
Just curious, does insurance cover something like this?
Also, if I was to take my car to a very prestigious body shop that works on Bentleys and Ferraris, and the shop would write up an estimate, does the insurance company always cover everything, or will they make me take it to a more reasonable shop?
Thanks

i think the insurance company has to cover it... u just pay the deductible... but i think u still have to go get an estimate at one of the shops that the ins. co. goes through..

Yeah, I think insurance covers vandalism.
The person who keyed my Acura was my ex-girlfriend. Haven't done anything to her cause I'm not gonna stoop that low and mess up somebodys car. BUT if anyone touches my Lexus I'm gluing up all their keyholes up with 3M 5000 bond *****.
