Unhappy Holy Crap, my car wont shift out of park!

Hello guys, I have another problem, If it isn't one thing, it's another.. Well, I was headed out last night and when I try to reverse out of the driveway, my shifter is stuck!.. I panicked because I was very late.. I toughts somehow the plastic inside had gotten stuck or something, so I took the whole center console out. Everything seemed fine, and I even took out the plastic.. I try hitting the little lever that lets you shift when your car os off, and it works! So I head out and do it 2 more times before I get back home.. Any suggestions as what messed up? ANother thing... Before, when I would hit the brakes, I would get a dash light indicating that my lights where burnt out, which they where.. Now, I get no dash light.. Maybe something isn't detecting me putting the brake? Please help!

your stop fuse blew....... it happened to me before....... mine blew because i had a big car jack in my trunk and i drifted at this turn witch cause the jack in my trunk to pull wires of my tail lights and those wires touched the metal and blew my fuse. or it can be a sensor that may need to be replaced but first check the fuse in the fuse box near you foot brake ( it should be to the left of it.

If both fuses blew, you have a problem that needs a bit more investigation. Don't assume that just because you've replaced the fuse you've fixed the problem. They don't usually just blow for no reason, especially two in the same circuit path. Check the wires near the lights for problems.

These issues are all related to your tail lights. Check your tail light wire harness and connections.

Yes! I kind of figured that my tail lights where causing all this mess, as I left my inners unplugged and with the harness hanging out.. Maybe they made contact with metal, as I have a lot of junk in the trunk.

Just a guess... but you know how you have to press the brake pedal to release the safety on the shifter, thats where I would believe how the 2 are related.

On the drivers side fuse compartment, its going to be fuse number 14, its going to be a 15a fuse.. That might be confusing because if you count from fuse one it it wont add up, Im just saying what the manual tells you.. Do it like this: Go down to the 4th row and the 3rd fuse from the left, thats the one that needs to be replaced
