Guys I need a quick answer to this question please. My new wheels arrive tomorrow and I need to secure some tires. What tire size do I need to go with to fit these wheel specs. Now I don't want an unsafe or over stretched tire just a nice stretch and ideal for fitment.
how bout you guys post up some pics of your setups with the 225/35 and 255/30? I'm curious about 20" on a GS as well... I was going to go 225/30 255/30 but I'd like to see the 35 series

You can go with a 225/30 but the size wall is SUPER small and the load capacity is much lower making it easier to blow the sidewall. the factory 16" is 205/60R16 which is 26.16" overall diameter and a 225/35R20 is 26.2 overall diameter so its the same.
Just because the side profile is 35 front and rear does not mean the sidewall height is the same. Take for example 225/45R17 and 255/40R17 have the exact sidewall thinkness where as 255/45R17 would be 1" taller in height and would look way off.
If you are going to buy new tires make sure the tire overall diameter is between 25.3-26.3. If you are not sure what is the overall diameter is, here is a link to the company I work for
Here is my setup with 225/35ZR20 front and 255/30ZR20 rear Falken FK-452

That would be rediculous First of all 245/40R20 is closer to a crossover/SUV size and is almost 28" in height. It would rub all over the place and not to mention look stupid.
225/35/20 and 245/35/20. Id rather have a slightly bigger sidewall to prevent bends and have a little bit more comfortable ride, rather than driving on rubber bands

^^ yea thats what i have!! i had 30s before and the ride was very rough!! felt the road to much!!
Ok time for some education here. If I had to guess or go at this alone I would have chosen these tire specs. Why is this NOT good for the fitment I need.
I am going to have the same specs as you as well. i am going for 215/35/19 on a 9" and 235/35/19 on a 11"
thru some research, that gives me the look i want plus the clearance i will definitely need
