I somehow voted for the wrong wheel.

Go with the IS#50 wheels.

lol I was wondering who voted for the chrome wheels.

Yep, the 18" Lexus wheels are MUCH better.

Also, if you get tinting, tint the front windows too (if it's legal in your state).

LOL! You guys are a riot. Going to have my wife read the posts because she said I was going to "ruin" the car because it looked so much better with the chrome alien looking wheels. Maybe she likes Deloreans?

So Mole, are you sure those tire sizes you gave me will fit okay? With over 1,000 posts I would guess you know what you are talking about but want to make sure those sizes work without making any modifications before I head back out to the tire shop.

BTW, when I was cleaning a rim the paint came off one spoke in a patch a couple inches long. It looks like it had a scrape that was repaired and repainted and the cleaner I used took off the repair paint. I'm guessing the prior owner either hired a rim repair guy or sprayed that spoke himself but didn't put a durable clear coat over it. Is there a silver spray paint that is a good match for me to repaint that spoke?

Keep the chromie comments coming! My wife is pretty stubborn.

Tell her the shinny stuff is better suited for her jewelry then it is for your wheels.

Any if you plan on having her read this I suggest you delete the "My wife is pretty stubborn" part.

She knows she is stubborn so that comment won't bother my most beautiful and loving wife which I adore more than anything in this world.

^ Agreed! Lmao!

But really.... This comes to show that women have absolutely horrific taste in cars and anything that has to do with them. Don't get me wrong... I'm not sexist or anything of that nature... I'm just trying to say that those chromies are the epitome of yick.

That was cruel... But can't really argue much with it.

That is so strange. Maybe they look at it like jewelry and image the shiny chrome wheel in miniature hanging as a pendant on their neck...

Pilot, you'll want to read this, I simply remember the things I did along the way, I had the same issue 4 years as you have right now with the rubbing, and it was oversized tires in the front. edit: btw, I had more issues rubbing with 245/45/18s on 8" wheels than I had lowered with 255/30/20 on a 9.5" wheels

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...-05-sc430.html is a great thread to start understanding about running anything other stock wheels are your car.

as far as repairing the paint, you'll probably end up fixing it again, might as well live with it for awhile or paint the whole rim, trust me though, you'll be eyeing 19s soon, it happens to everyone, save your cash.

so out of everyone who voted you have 1 guy who hit the button by accident, 1 who thought it was funny, and your wife and one of her friends who want to chromies.
