Default Help me ship this! large item suggestions

hey all, I'm having some issues trying to get an rmm bumper sent to me, my address is apo(I'm stationed in turkey) they're saying its too big to ship, not sure what to do, I will be overseas for the next several years an I really want this bumper. I've already given the seller 400 us just for shipping and the part(s) are paid for already I just need to get it to myself. I figured I'd ask on here, maybe someone works at ups/ dhl etc and can help. Pics of the bumper are below. dimensions are...

"My measurements are L=84", W=30", H=16", 17lbs.
This is approx. depending on who is measuring since it's not in a box.
Girth looks to be 2x (width + height)
So 2(30+16)= 92"
Add 92" + L(84")= 176" (to big)"

Where is the front bumper currently located at? You're actually very generous for paying $400 just for shipping the bumper. Go with UPS and they can either find a box for the seller or the seller can pack it himself. Just to be safe give the dimension to DHL as well and see how much they quote.

Hey man...there's a guy named James who works for UPS who is/was a vendor on here. I think he is ending his sponsorship but according to his thread below he is still honoring shipping discounts so it might be worth PMing him and see if he can help you out at all. Here's a link to his vendor thread....

Put it on a boat. Check out some local shipping companies, not UPS of Fedex. A lot of poeple ship cars and stuff overseas. Getting your bumper into one of their containers will be free $$$ for them, and they will do it gladly.

$400 might even be too little via fedex/ups/dhl. I work at a shipping company like fedex kinkos and the price to ship stuff international is extremely expensive, especially something that size.

Thanks sakataj, I sent that guy an email, but the thing is i don't want to come back to the states anytime soon, I'll be overseas till at least 2013, probably longer so no matter what it will be shipped internationally. honestly I've already given the seller 400 via paypal so I would just pay to have it shipped internationally, but at that point I will have spent almost 35% more on shipping than the actual items.

B ! ! I will be soon parting out my entire RMM kit, too bad we didn't talk about this.

As for shipping, the packaging is critical if that bumper is to survive the rigors of foreign travel.

Good Luck with the shipment.

I know this might sound crazy to everyone but, if it's fiberglass have it cut into 3 or 4 peices and put it in a smaller box and just mold it back together when you get it

I believe the rmm is poly (actually that's why I want it, Turkish roads)
hey rmmgs4 sell me the front!!!!!! as soon as you're ready to sell I'm down, as for the shipping I figure I just make sure its insured and if its damaged that will cover the cost of repairs, plus it will need paint no matter what, so there's work to be done there and whatever shop i choose should be able to handle that.

It's polyurethane so no go.

Also, even if it were FG I would rather pay for shipping, than pay to cut it up and put it back together. I don't think the labor is going to come out less, unless you know a shop in Turkey that does body kits for cheap

Insure it for the full amount new.

If you successfully find a way to get this rear bumper shipped, then we can try the front. I'll soon be selling my RMM Exhaust and TEIN CS, BTW in case you're interested.
