Default 98 2gs400 idle is low

1998 2gs 400.

idles really low 500>. is there a way to set the idle? i have to drive around with the A/C on to keep the idle smooth. any help would be appreciated.

ps...... already did a tune up and had all the basic areas checked. also i am not throwing any codes. everything runs great....... just a really low idle.

Replace your engine mounts and/or transmission mount. It won't cure the low idle (which isn't really a "problem") but will solve the symptom (vibration at idle)

the low idle only bothers me cuz there were 2 occasions where the motor shut off. thats y its a problem.

iirc, it's the pcv valve that is causing this problem.

yes this could also be the culprit, i cleaned out my MAF and TB and still a low idle, then i replaced the PCV a few days ago and the idle went up to normal.

400-500 is normal for GS4 idle with all accessories off

A hose on the drivers side thats connected to the valve cover

btw, its a PCV valve man AKA Positive Crankcase Ventilation NOT A PVC valve (PVC is a plastic fitting used to connect PVC piping)
