wow nice work vu. u so cool.
now get a buffer machine and some polish.
should make it nice and shiny
but u'd have to polish it every time u wash ur car. or else it gets dull.
or u can polish it and then clear coat it

As far as I remember it sits tightly on clips, so pulling on it gently would work.
But before you do, just make sure it really is so!

I actually have the same intention, because the paint has started to come off off of one side already, so subscribing to this thread, we'll see what other say!

Wouldn't it rust or anything once stripped, or should it be treated with some sort of lacquer?
Thank you!

I wouldn't use your screwdriver tactic...thats just me though. I just pull up from the backside and it pops up.

you can always get chrome vinyl and wrap it up that way.

start with 600 grit and move up, then use a polishing wheel with some buffing compound

This way it wouldn't rust or one would still have to treat it with lacquer of some sort? Thank you.

If you wet sand it down with say like 1000 grit, it wont rust (i did this to my exhaust, hasnt rusted). You can polish it with a polisher and then spray some clear coat on it. you cannot polish something to become chrome, to get chrome u gotta use chemicals.

the chrome sticker way sounds like a good idea, where do they sell it long enough for the whole molding?

if its stainless, it doesn't rust. I'm sure its stainless, but to test, take a magnet to it. If it sticks its not stainless.
