Looks good!
I thought about doing this when I first got my car, but then I realized Nissan's 6th gen Maxima was going to look some what like the GS and had the same molding in chrome. That was enough for me to change my mind and leave it painted.

OK i polished it good and then clear coated it, but the clearcoat wont stick and makes it less shiny. you can polish it or not, but it will not rust. Had it for a couple months and no signs of any rust (no clearcoat because i peeled it out).

My Trim tape has peeled half way up on both sides. I'm thinking about doing this DIY to avoid an expensive expense for pain'ol tape.

After reading this thread, I went out to my car to pull off the rest of the trim tape. The tape became hard and broke off into pieces, but I was able to get all of it. It now looks silver ( a lot better than ripped and missing white tape). Next is to sand it with a fine grit (1000,2000,3000) then polish it.

Any chance we can get the original how-to photos back?

Ditto on the original photos. Thinking about adding an LED strip tucked away underneath my roof spoiler and I need to see if there is room to run wires down into the trunk area.

They're snapped in. Just give a little tug until it pops out. Start from the back, theres a bigger lip to come off. Dont yank, theres a clip like every ~2 feet I believe. Kinda pull at it from the side, like how you would scratch your butt crack LoL Yes, same motion, it will slowly come up. Reinstalling is easy, line up the clips and push, a slight fist pound may be needed.

I dont there being any room to run wires "neatly", theres no channel for them to set in. If you up them in the channel that the strip clips in, they might get smashed in an unsafe manner.
