Default New Car day

well, sorta....

I finally picked up a car after having gone 2 months without having one. Public transportation everyday in the heat with stinky folks who just didn't know what deodorant is, alright it wasn't that bad at all.

I'll be posting more proper pics when I find the time as I am on vacation for a quick short stint before I get back to the grind. Mods will come down the road, but not until next year at least for anything on the outside.

Mods on the Radar:

-Rims
-Drop
-H/U with BT and Navi
-Body kit
-Maybe some paint

I have ordered some JDM parts already and hope to put them on in a few weeks. I have been driving most of the day and love it to death. Tomorrow she'll go in for a $1500.00 service appointment (timing belt, idler pulley, coolant and a Lexus Major Service). I got such a great deal on this car that I couldn't pass it up.

Lexus 2001 GS300

Looks like it was well taken care of!
Looking forward to seeing what you do with it in the future.

I took these pics the first day I went to view the vehicle. Once I get my DSLR and the car ready I'll take some good pictures.

Anyone know how to tell if you have Xexon lights? It appears to be them, but I can't tell with the older OEM's.

If they look blueish and your fogs look yellow.

My car is even older than yours and it has OEM Xenon.

Sweet I have Xexon's then as I looked at it and they have that distinctive start up to Xexon's and then it has yellow fogs and a blueish tint.

This also means you have auto leveling headlights.

That is so awesome man, that tells me that I got a much better deal on the car than I thought. The only options it didn't seem to have that were optional were the Navi unit and the rear-view mirror with the compass. The only issue with the car is the auto up for the drivers side window doesn't work, but it'll still go up (easy fix).

I paid $9,000 Cnd for a car that has about 184,000KM's or about 114k miles.

Welcome and congrats

Smart decision on getting maintenance done first and foremost before the mods. Many people do the opposite.

Thanks Mex Lex, I wouldn't have it any other way especially since the previous owner did do a great job of maintaining the vehicle with all the records on file (minus the timing belt). I always want to have a strong running car rather than mods first, car has to run a long time and I have a road trip on Saturday.

I just got a call from the dealership that they are going to keep the car until tomorrow . I miss her already as does my girl, but it'll give me time to find the other bits.

I looked at some audio gear today and found a nice Head Unit and I need some floor mats to keep the front carpets in good condition. The rear seats haven't been used at all, except on extremely rare occasions as the 2 owners didn't have kids and just serviced it as needed.
