Mine isn't a GS but the cheapo bike rack I plug into the DrawTite class II hitch on my 00 LS is by far the best way I've found to transport bikes. I've used all sorts of roof top and trunk lid mounted bike racks over the past 44 years but a hitch mounted rack is the only type I've found that eliminates all the wind noise and car damage. It should work the same on a GS.
