Thumbs up 2GS 300 - EVAP Casing

Three week ago I noticed on my driver side that the carpet is damp... I read some old posting here concerning about water being present at the driver side... I read alot about the concern on EVAP leaking... I looked under the dash and found where it is coming from....Unfortunately, the dealer does not sale just the casing, you have to buy the whole thing and it is about $2 k+....just for the part.... I tried every way possible to save money but mostly everyone says to replace the whole thing.... Not 'till I found out that one of my friend knew about this guy who specialized on LEXUS here at SOCAL.... his name is Monty, his shop name is LEX-Tex....this guy is great and honest...and guarantee his work...Well, he suggested to just reseal the casing. and it will save me a lot of money...I know -I know why not replace the whole thing!!!! first if I replace the whole thing it will happen again cause Lexus used a cheap seal around the casing...and second my evap still working - the car only has 86,000 miles... Monty used a hi temp sealant that for sure it won't leak...the turn around time is great also considering with his busy shop...So if anyone came across with the same problem give Monty a call at 619.708.7700 or visit his shop at LEX-TEX..sorry his only here at SOCAL.....I now have the car for about a week and so far so good.....thanks LEX-TEX (monty)
