strange sound when turn wheel raise up or down
My 05 GS300 has steering wheel noise when it moves up or down. I programmed it so the height changes when I plug in/pull out the key, as such the wheel won't block my view of the speed meter. It sounds like dry or tight gear. Not sure how to open it and where to oil it. Any help appreciated.
Thanks a lot for following people replied me especially raceforgt, I will feedback when I get it improved.
Original post that I can't understand now

I had to read your post a couple of times to understand the wording but I think I know what you're talking about. I had a 98 GS3 that I had this problem with, although all second-gen GSs are virtually the same (I've owned 3).
You have the automatic tilt-away function activated which moves the steering wheel up and out of your way when you take the key out and back when you insert it. Although the GSs are set with this function on by default, they are known to have a grinding/screeching problem develop over time. Basically after so many repeated up and away, and back, motions the gears get worn and start to operate abnormally. I'll tell you I took my 98 GS to a dealer and the fix is pretty expensive. They basically take the entire assembly apart and rebuild it while lubing all the gears and replace the motor.
My best suggestion is this: take the car to a dealer and have them deactivate the auto tilt-away function before it gets any worse (it will). Set the steering to where you want it and leave it that way. You can still adjust it when you need to but cancel the auto tilt function. Every GS Ive ever seen has this problem if left activated, although it's a little early on an 05. It's a nice feature that I wish you could turn off/on manually without taking it to the dealer but it's just not that easy.
That's my two cents and what I've done with every GS I've owned.
