Ok, I'm sorry. This thread is dead, and the poor original poster is probably thinking we are all ganging up on him. But, i saw this at the gas station today and I had to take a picture.
Can we get an emote icon of one of the little happy faces beating a dead horse?

hey sorry guys.. been really busy with work that is why couldn't reply... yeah i get the point of switching off the car... i always do that but once or twice when i did not this is what is the problem i got... i thought it had to do something with the ECU.. this is my first car and i got it like a month ago..
no i never got a CEL.. the only malfunction light i get is the auto-leveling which i'l post in another thread.
But it happens in the traffic.. usually after the car has been driven a good 40 miles. any DIY's on the tps?
thanks and sorry for the late reply...
cheers

down here in dubai it is so hot that sometimes you just cannot shut off the car and sweat buckets when you have an interview in the next 20 minutes ... :S
but hey guys.. come on enough of making me feel bad.... anybody else experiences this in traffic? RPM going up and down? a friend of mine has an LS400 and he faces the same problem but hasn't come to a solution yet.

Im actually surprised that more people didnt try to leave their car running while fueling. I leave my engine running on all of my other vehicles except the lexus because the stupid thing shuts the gas pump off after around 2 gallons. With so many people running turbos im surprised that nobody figured out a way around this. I agree with the OP, in parts of southern California it is nice to leave the engine running on hot days.

Generally this is an air-related issue, not fuel or spark. Most common are either Idle Air Control Valve, Mass air flow, or PCV valve. You could try cleaning the MAF, this can be a delicate procedure. Lots of into on the internet about it.
