How about drilling a hole in the tranny and put a drill plug in it?

don't buy bmw. my transmission mechanic tells me that you can't change the oil in bmw's transmission(except the old ones) and once they hit over 100k, you mite be looking to put in a new one. bmw calls it their "infinite transmission oil" that never needs replacing. bahahaah, yeah right!
Im not sure how true this can be. Ive seen various 740s for sale with far over 100k miles. By old, how old do you mean?

Ive seen 96 740s with 130k on them and they looked and felt like new. Not to mention, the transmision had never been changed.

point blank thats a good price for the car.......is that private party or dealer. I would think if its dealer they know you will be back for services soon and they will then make their money back. 28K is very low for that car! .....I say do some real good research first.

I have both cars I have a 98 BMW 740i and a GS400 and the GS will blow the doors out of the 740 preformance wise, it would also beat a 750, a 750 does 0-60 in 6.5 seconds and the quarter in 15.0, now as far as ammenaties the 740 has a few extra options ovedr the GS, it all depends on what your looking for if you want a fast sedan then the GS4 is your car, but if you want a luxury sedan then I would go with the 740
