Going to look at a 98 Gs300 w/150,000 miles...Should I?

sounds like whoever is doing your labor is screwing you, no offense. if you arent already, you should really try doing the more simple stuff yourself. Brakes shouldnt cost you $400, i just did my own and it was ridiculously easy and only cost me about $100 for pads and $40 to turn the rotors. I also just had my alternator and battery replaced and it only cost me $350
PS.
My car is a GS400 and its got just over 150k miles and runs like a champ! All you gotta do is make sure its properly maintained.

Well, for the brakes I'm probably going to do it myself and I'm getting new rotors and pads and which is why it's costing that much. The 90k was the dealer, so of course it's going to be extra. And I went with Bilstein sports and all of the bushings which cost me around 600 plus 350 to install all of it so I don't feel like that is bad.

it's a bad idea to have a 300 for a daily driver because it isn't much better on gas compared to the V8's. the frame and engine bay of the GS was designed to support the weight of a heavy V8 so all the GS300's are just lugging around unnecessary weight.

GS430's torque is up from 310 lb-ft to 325 as opposed to the 400. As importantly, power and torque peaks are at lower rpms, for faster response. Sounds like a selling point to me.
