Dilemma
Hi,
My window drivers side window on my 02 GS430 started to not go up or down. I took it to the Lexus dealership and they said that the window regulator is fine, but that i have an intermittent short in the master drivers side window switch. Anyway, i ordered the window switch online from Sewell ($330) and took it to my independent mechanic because Lexus was going to charge $700 for the part and labor. My mechanic changed out the window switch and said that didn't help anything i still have the same problem, actually my window regulator is out. Lexus diagnosed it wrong. Now i wasted $330 for the part and some labor i paid to my mechanic and still i need a window regulator.
Can i go back to the dealership and recoup some of these costs?
Thanks

So Lexus isn't at all responsible for diagnosing a faulty window switch(which was not true) for which i paid $330 for? I even have the summary diagnostic sheet from Lexus stating this.
