I just can't believe that you would base your entire ownership experience on an 8-year old car w/100k + miles ?! If the guy who works at the dealership is such a great "friend" why did he rape you on your trade in ?? Obviously your G35 wasn't such a great purchase considering you said you "regretted it after the fact because i was certain my gs would have gone forever", so ask yourself this, would you buy that car if it was 8 years-old w/over 100,000 miles ?

wow!!!

My 90 LS400 has 165,000 miles and i drive hard everyday...never replaced a tranny yet just my front upper control arm. HEY BUDDY do you think ur dealer friend can replace my engine...it seems like its going soon..lol YEA RIGHT!!!!

since when Nissan TECHs specialize in TOYATO?????????

i mean if i bring my LS to lexus of manhattan...they will never rebuild my engine let along give me a new one...it would probley cost more than the car is worth and it will take forever....

oh and ur infiniti will not hold up to its name it will most lilkey last another 2 years and give u a **** load of problems.

Got into the thread a little late...but I have questions to anyone knowledgeable. If an engine in a vehicle is replaced, this gets noted somehow and attached to the VIN#, correct? If so, couldn't this kid provide us with a VIN that we could do a CARFAX report on? Seems like a rather simple check to me, if I am correct.

I thought about the same thing when I first read the post...but then I thought why bother, this guy is obviously full of it himself or his "friend" is blowing smoke up his ***

Well said LexusPride. If your Infiniti dealer is such a friend, why lament that you didn't get a good price? Surely he could have pulled a few strings. Last time I checked, the Infiniti dealership wasn't exactly the most popular place on the planet, so I'm sure Nissan is more than happy to work on numbers to get a convert.

And glaze, you still don't explain what an engine blowing up means. When I think of blow up, I'm thinking explosions and fire. Usually not a recoverable situation. Also, driven by a grandmother? That's pretty lame.

I've seen problems in all types of cars, and surely Lexus is not without them. But, if you compare the amount of problems that we have with our Lexi, which are usually smaller problems, and compare them to the failures of other manufacturers cars, it would be enough to make your head spin. Add in JD Power and Consumer Reports, and you have your expected, but not guaranteed, reliability. If you did a scan of this board, I think the biggest problem you would find is rough idle!

For those americans that dont know this already, in canada we use KILOMETERS! not miles. it had 123,000 kms! which is 75,000 miles.

I didnt say grandmother either, i said and old lady. She was in her 60's

We called your bluff, get over it. Please take my advise and go bother the clubsi guys.
